nestled in a valley on the Pacific Coast just 12 miles

Carpinteria
was named for a Spanish word that means
"carpentry" after explorers arrived and found
the beach covered with wooden boats. The
Carpinteria beach is known as "the world's
safest" because it is in a protected cove almost
precisely halfway between Santa Barbara & Ventura.
